Rome: Total War is a turn-based real-time strategy game. It is a story about hostilities between the factions of Ancient Rome. This part is a continuation of a series of games of the same name, which has received many innovations.

The plot begins in 270 BC. The entire gameplay is divided into multiple moves. Here are the numerous outcomes of the development of real historical events. Many of them are random and do not distort the overall picture.

The gameplay is divided into two components:
Strategy - divided into moves, during which you can take up the town planning of your faction: erect buildings, recruit soldiers, improve characteristics, spy, start negotiations or send an army to attack. The main goal is to capture Rome and the surrounding provinces.
Tactics are real-time battles. The number of soldiers is not limited. It is necessary to suppress the enemy´s numbers and destroy. You can force him to retreat - this is also a victory.

This game features 21 factions. At first, only 3 are available, the rest as you progress through their predecessors. They all have alliances with each other and depend on each other. All have their own leaders - units with increased characteristics. They are assigned automatically by the AI.

Many cities are being captured. This is done to replenish their ranks with new characters. It is possible to carry out such actions without violence and offer high wages for the labor. Citizens in the city may be unhappy with the hostilities. They are ready to start a civil war or leave you for another faction, where the conditions are better. The economy is made up of several main points: trade, taxes, copper mining and agriculture. With the successful development of each item, your army will be provided with food and the necessary arsenal.

All battles take place in the third person. The gamer distributes troops across the location. Units receive orders and carry them out. You can demand to perform several actions: attack, defense, capture or surrender.
