Product description
The book of the Catholic priest Mavro Orbini "Slavic Kingdom", which is essentially the first history of all Slavic peoples, may well claim to be the most sensational book of the century.
It was first published in 1601 in Italy, and immediately followed by a series of scandals associated with it. Traditional history took up arms against the book, followed by the Catholic Church. The publication was immediately entered in the Index of prohibited books and miraculously escaped destruction.
In 1722, under the personal instructions of Peter I, part of this book was translated into Russian, and now we are submitting the full version translated from Italian.
The loud statements of Mavro Orbini, which destroyed the traditional history of the Middle Ages, continue to shock shocked historians today.
The archive includes an additional file with translation in modern Russian transcription edited by Anatoly Erokhin.
